Margaret Lovell was born 1939 in Bristol. Sculptor, printmaker, draughtsman and teacher.

Studying at West of England College of Art 1956-60, she then moved and studied under A.H. Gerrard at Slade School of Art 1960-2. Lovell worked at the Morris Singer Foundry, London in 1962 and worked in technical capacity for Hulbert Dalwood. In 1962-3, she won an Italian State scholarship which took her to the Academy of Fine Art, Florence.In 1965-6 she won a Greek Government scholarship.

1971 she was elected member of the Royal West of England Academy (Council member).

1972 elected Fellow of the Royal Society of British Sculptors (Served on the Council).
