Biography

Glyn Morgan was born Pontypridd, Wales, 1926. Studied Cardiff College of Art 1942-44. Camberwell School of Art 1947-8. Disillusioned at Camberwell and so left, spending several months at Benton End which Cedric Morris had opened.
Returned to Cardiff College of Art in 1948 to gain his art teaching qualification, but did not stay to complete. Worked in Paris 1951. Hotel mural commission, Cheltenham, 1955. Morgan was granted a Goldsmiths' Company award for 6 months in 1968 and choice to work and study in Crete. In 1972 lectured at Aegina Art Centre in Greece during the summer months. !985 organised and presented 'The Benton End Circle' exhibition of more than 40 years' work by students of Cedric Morris and Arthur Lett-haines, Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery. 1988 Classical landscape commission. 1988-98 was a member of the Society of Botanical Artists. Recently written book by David Buckman 'Glyn Morgan at Eighty'.
