Colin Moss born 1914 in Ipswich.. Painter in oil and watercolour; lithographer. Studied at Plymouth Art School, 1930-34, and RCA, receiving his dipolma in 1937. Painted murals in 1938 for the British pavilion at the New York World Fair. During war years he worked first as a camouflage designer and then saw active service in the Middle East. 1947 he taught at Ipswich School of Art, retiring 1979. Held numerous solo exhibitions, including retrospective at Christchurch mansion, Ipswich. Exhibitions at RA and RWS and other leading London art galleries. Studied for a brief period in Salzburg under Kokoschka. Represented in the British museum, Tate gallery, Imperial War Museum and Government Art Collection. |
