| Biography
Studied at Bryanston School and also studied Newlyn, Cornwall, under Stanhope Forbes in 1938 and then at the Slade in 1939. 1940 joined RAF. 1941-5 prisioner of war in Germany, where he met Terry Frost. 1945-7 returned to Slade. 1948 held solo show at Musee de Carcassonne. 1953 his first one - artist exhibition was held at Redfern Gallery, followed by numerous group shows in Britain and abroad. Regular solo exhibitions. Two restrospectives at the City Gallery, Bristol 1971 and at Graves Art Gallery, Sheffield in 1972. |
