Born in St Ives, Cornwall. Bryan Pearce was a sufferer of the condition Phenylketonuria which affects the normal development of the brain. Began drawing and painting in 1953. Attended St Ives School of painting under leonard Fuller, 1953-57. Started painting in oil in 1957 and joined the Penwith Society and two years later joined the Newlyn Society. 1959 held solo show at Newlyn Gallery. A restrospective was held in 1966 at Penwith Gallery, St Ives; a series of exhibitions were also held at New Art Centre in 1960s and 1970s. There were a number of later shows including Stoppenbach & Delestre, 1982; Plymouth Art Centre, 1948; a retrospective at RWA, 1995; others were held at Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro, 2000-1, and New Works, Beaux Arts, Bath 2004. Archeus also gave Bryan Pearce a retrospective in 2005. Art Council holds his works.
